LPDDR4X RAM, impressive AI performance, and Dual VoLTE support are some examples of its amazing features. Other FeaturesĪs for the rest of the features goes, it is the jack of all trades. You will be able to play games for an extended period of time without any hints of overheating. You should expect good battery life and almost no heating even on heavy usage. However, it is far from the 10nm nodes in terms of transistor density and power efficiency. The 12nm Fabrication Node of TSMC offers decent efficiency and it is on par with the 14nm fabrication nodes of other manufacturers like GlobalFoundries or Samsung. However, opting for a Snapdragon 660 device would be a better choice when it comes to gaming. If you play a lot of games on your smartphone, can definitely go for a device powered by this SOC. You will be able to play PUBG Mobile and other popular games smoothly. The Mali-G72 MP3 is a pretty decent GPU and it can handle every game with ease. On the performance front, you shouldn’t see a significant difference when compared to a Snapdragon 660 device. My experience while performing general tasks such as browsing and messaging was quite good. The experience while using the device is smooth and the apps open in the blink of an eye.Īnyone that needs a phone that is snappy and can perform heavy tasks should go for it. The powerful Cortex-A73 cores take the performance of midrange phones to a whole new level. The performance of P70 in the real-world scenario is impressive. I’ll divide the review into multiple sections for the ease of understanding. Here’s a detailed performance review of the Helio P70 to know whether this SOC is right for you or not. You can check out our GPU rankings here to learn more. However, the Adreno 512 (Snapdragon 660) is quite better. The Mali-G72 MP3 is better than the Adreno 509 of Snapdragon 636. Also, the higher GPU frequency and the Mediatek’s Response Time Enhancement Technology should result in a better gaming experience. The Mali-G72 MP3 GPU is a decent choice and it can handle all the games without any hiccups. The maximum frequency that the high-performance A73 cluster can reach is 2.1 GHz. It has an 8-core CPU with two clusters of Cortex-A73 cores and Cortex-A53 cores. Compared to the specification of Helio P60, the only difference is the clock speeds of both the CPU & the GPU. Here is the specification table of MediaTek Helio P70. The AI performance of this chip is impressive and matches some of the flagship grade SOCs.īefore we go into the details, let’s have a look the pros. Just like the Helio P60, it is fabricated using the TSMC’s 12nm Fabrication Technology. In fact, it is one of the best midrange processors at present times. I’m not at all saying that Helio P70 is not a good chip. I am only criticizing the Mediatek’s naming scheme that could deceive general consumers. So, by looking at the naming scheme, a normal consumer will feel that it is a big performance jump from Helio P60 to P70. Well, even if they wanted to launch a SOC with those minor performance gains, they should have named it something like Helio P63 or maybe Helio P65. They should have launched the Helio P70 with some major improvements instead. I don’t think that there was any need for Helio P70 in the first place. There’s another new feature known as the Response Time Enhancement Technology which optimizes latency and response times. These slightly higher frequencies will result in a performance boost of 5-10% but nothing as significant as a die shrink or using a better CPU or GPU architecture.

Gears tactics free# This powerful finisher reloads the weapons of your entire squad and grants them a 50% damage bonus for one turn. Lock and Load is the final perk in the Paragon specialisation branch, which you work towards by unlocking Teamwork and Empower. Gears tactics free# Use Teamwork and Empower on the same ally and you can reliably earn up to three free actions for your squad on the turn they're activated insane momentum potential! This is best used on a Scout that's in range to kill a group of Wretches with a grenade, or a Sniper with a good line-of-sight on multiple enemies. Teamwork allows the Support to earn free actions whenever a specific ally kills or downs an enemy, up to a maximum of two of three actions (depending on how many points you have put into Teamwork.) This provides a nice boost of tempo by increasing the net number of actions your squad has on that turn, but things really start getting crazy when combined with the next skill: Teamwork. Once you've put additional points into it, however, it provides two additional actions and a damage buff. Occasionally useful to move an ally to safety or let a Sniper pick off another unit that no one else can reach, but nothing extraordinary. Here are some of their most useful skills:Īt its first level, Empower gives one of your allies a bonus action during the turn it's activated. Supports can be built as medics with powerful single-target and group healing abilities, but their true worth lies on the right side of their skill tree, letting them bend the rules of engagement to their will. We'll focus on the Support first as it's one of the most influential classes, using Gears Tactics' protagonist, Gabe Diaz, as our example. Watch on YouTube Best Support skills in Gears Tactics This is where we come in! Let's look at some of the best skills to unlock for each class, starting with the Support. The real challenge comes from picking which skills to unlock, but you'll only have enough skill points to unlock one or two branches before the final mission, so you'll need to choose wisely. You can use Reset Tokens that are earned throughout the campaign to reselect your skills if you aren't happy with your choices, but these are in fairly short supply. How do you reset skills in Gears Tactics? The Skill Tree can be accessed from the Barracks at any time, or when selecting which soldiers to bring with you on a mission.Įach class' Skill Tree splits into four specialization branches to choose from, and as you unlock skills along a branch, the adjacent skills become available to unlock next. One example of this is the Run and Gun kill for the Sniper, which gives them increased damage for a turn after they move.Įach class starts with a single skill, and you'll earn 2 skill points every time they level up, which can be spent to unlock new skills in their Skill Tree. Passive Skills, on the other hand, can't be manually activated and will usually improve your soldiers' base stats or improve their proficiency in battle when a specific trigger happens. On most missions, your soldiers will each have 3 AP (Action Points) to spend per turn on shooting, moving, reloading, and using Active Skills.Īctive skills usually cost 1 AP and will have an immediate impact on the battlefield, after which they go on cooldown for a set number of turns before they can be used again. Skills can be sorted into two categories: Actives and Passives. If you're familiar with the XCOM franchise, you should know most of how skills work, but Gears Tactics does a few things differently all the same.
